Howard is the growth story north of Green Bay. Population sits just under 20,000 as of the 2020 census — up substantially from where it was in the 1990s. Most of that growth is in subdivisions built after 2000, which means most Howard garage doors are relatively young insulated steel units with LiftMaster or Chamberlain openers and, increasingly, MyQ Wi-Fi setups. The service mix here reflects that: fewer old-hardware repairs, more insulated-door installs, more smart-opener retrofits, and a lot more three-car openings than you see in the older cities.

- Three-car attached garages as the standard. Two 16-foot doors or one 16 plus one 8-foot are common configurations in the newer subdivisions.
- Duck Creek Ridge and Woodland Estates. Post-2005 builds, mostly insulated steel, mostly good hardware. Repair calls tend to be broken springs on 15-year-old assemblies, or safety-eye realignment.

Insulated door installs
Because Howard is so heavily attached-garage stock, insulation matters. The garage wall shares with the mudroom, kitchen, or family room, and in a Wisconsin winter the difference between an R-6 non-insulated door and an R-18 polyurethane-injected door is real money on the utility bill. Smart opener setup and MyQ
Newer Howard subdivisions are the biggest source of MyQ setup calls. The garage is a long way from the front door in a lot of these homes and homeowners want to be able to check whether it's shut from their phone. If your opener is a LiftMaster or Chamberlain manufactured after 2015 with a MyQ light indicator, it's compatible with the mobile app and we can walk through the setup. If it's older, we can install a MyQ hub gateway or upgrade the opener.
Winter access
Howard's newer subdivisions have longer driveways and open exposures to prevailing north-westerly winds. That matters for winter service two ways. First, drifting: an unshoveled 100-foot driveway can put our truck 40 minutes behind schedule. Please clear a lane if you can. Second, cold: doors and springs at a Howard address on a January morning are often colder than the equivalent door in Green Bay proper because there's less urban heat retention. Torsion-spring failures peak here on the coldest mornings.

Do you install 18-foot and larger doors?
Yes. We install commercial-sized residential doors up through 20-foot common. Springs, hardware, and operators sized to the weight of the door. Custom widths may require an order lead time.
Can I add MyQ to my existing LiftMaster opener?
If the opener has the MyQ indicator light (built into 2012+ LiftMaster residential units), yes — it's a firmware pairing to the app. If it's older, we can install a MyQ hub accessory or price a full opener replacement.
Is drive time longer for calls this far north?
Twenty to twenty-five minutes from central Green Bay to most Howard addresses. Same routing as Green Bay proper — no surcharge.
