Not every garage door problem is an emergency. A dented panel or a squeaky opener can wait for a business-hours appointment. But some situations genuinely can't — a door that won't close leaves the house or business unsecured, and a stuck-open door in a January snowstorm turns a garage into a wind tunnel. This page is for those calls.
What counts as an emergency
- Door is stuck open and it's overnight, subzero, or a storm.
- Door won't close — safety-eye alignment, obstruction, or an opener that stops mid-cycle.
- Door came off the track from a vehicle impact or a snapped cable and is hanging at an angle.
- Commercial door won't secure the building at the end of the business day.
- Storm damage — wind, hail, tree branch through the panels, or a broken opener from a lightning strike.
- Torsion spring snapped and the door is stuck partway.
What doesn't need a middle-of-the-night call
These can safely wait until morning:
- The door is closed and locked but the opener won't respond to the remote.
- A dented panel that doesn't affect operation.
- Noisy operation without any functional problem.
- A single remote that stopped working when other openers on the same door still function.

What to do while you wait
If the door is stuck open: disconnect the opener trolley from the door (the red emergency release cord). If you can safely lower the door by hand and it stays closed, do that. It will not be locked, but it will be down. Don't try this if you know or suspect a spring is broken — the door will drop with no counterbalance.
If the door came off the track after a vehicle impact: pull the vehicle out if it's safe. Do not try to force the door back onto the tracks. Bent tracks can pinch through a hand.
If a spring snapped: leave the door where it is. Do not try to lift it. Warn anyone in the house not to walk under it.

What counts as after-hours?
Weeknights after 6pm, Saturdays after 4pm, Sundays, and holidays. Calls that come in during those hours for legitimate emergencies get after-hours dispatch. Non-emergency calls that come in after-hours we return first thing the next business morning.
Is there a premium for after-hours service?
Yes. After-hours service carries a callout charge above business-hours rates. We'll tell you the estimate before we're on the truck.
How fast can you get there?
Depends on where you are, what other calls are ahead of yours, and road conditions. We can't promise a specific time on any single call. What we can do is give you an honest window when you call.
Do you take commercial emergency calls?
Yes. Restaurants and retail with dock doors, back-of-house rolling steel, and after-hours lockdown needs — that's a regular part of what we do.
